«Dans le cadre de ma mission, je voudrais tout mettre en œuvre pour le renforcement de la coopération et des relations fraternelles et amicales liant le Mali et l’Algérie», a précisé le jeune diplomate.
Il a ajouté avoir évoqué avec le président de la République «les relations bilatérales et souligné la nécessité de travailler ensemble afin de surmonter nos défis communs». Pour le Général Mohamed Amaga Dolo, «le Mali et l’Algérie sont deux pays frères, unis par l’histoire et par la géographie, ayant des liens séculaires et partageant un destin commun dans les domaines de la paix, de la sécurité et du développement».
Malheureusement, sa mission commence avec une nouvelle crise entre Bamako et Alger suite à un drone malien abattu. En effet, dans la nuit du 31 mars au 1ᵉʳ avril 2025, un drone des Forces armées maliennes (FAMa) a été abattu à Tinzawaten, ville frontalière entre le Mali et l’Algérie. Quelques heures après l’incident, le ministère algérien de la Défense a déclaré avoir «abattu» un drone ayant «violé» son espace aérien en provenance du Mali. Mais, dimanche dernier, le gouvernement a réagi par un communiqué prouvant le contraire et dénonçant «une énième provocation du régime algérien».
Le collège des chefs d’État de la Confédération AES (Mali, Burkina Faso et Niger) a condamné «avec la plus grande énergie la destruction du drone». Il a affirmé que l’acte «vise l’ensemble des États membres» et constitue une «voie perfide de promouvoir le terrorisme». D’où la décision des trois pays de l’AES de rappeler «pour consultations» leurs ambassadeurs accrédités en Algérie.
