Les débats autour du dossier de l’achat de l’avion présidentiel et des équipements militaires se poursuivent à la Cour d’Appel de Bamako. Interrogée sur le coût de l’avion présidentiel, Mme Bouaré Fily Sissoko a indiqué qu’il s’élevait à plus de 18,5 milliards de FCFA. Elle a justifié cet achat en expliquant que la location d’un avion pour les déplacements du président coûtait 330 millions FCFA par mois, ce qui, selon elle, rendait l’acquisition d’un avion nécessaire. « Son achat n’était pas prévu dans le budget, mais le Premier ministre, Oumar Tatam Ly, m’a dit de trouver une formule. L’absence de transparence dans les contrats d’achat de l’aéronef présidentiel et des équipements militaires, passés sans appel d’offres, a suscité des suspicions de détournement et de favoritisme. Une enquête menée par le Fonds Monétaire International (FMI) a révélé des irrégularités, entraînant une suspension temporaire des décaissements en faveur du Mali. Bien que cette affaire ait été classée sans suite sous le régime du défunt président Ibrahim Boubacar Keïta, elle a été rouverte en 2021 par la Cour Suprême, qui s’est déclarée compétente pour juger les principaux accusés.
