A l’issue du premier Sommet des Chefs d’Etat de l’Alliance des Etats du Sahel (AES), tenu ce samedi 6 juillet 2024, à Niamey au Niger, le Mali a été désigné pour assurer la présidence de l’Alliance pour un mandat d’un (01) an.
Des conclusions du Sommet, l’on retient également la création d’une banque des investissements pour l’AES et la mise en place d’un fonds de stabilisation. De même, les ministres de l’AES ont reçu des instructions des chefs d’Etat visant à amoindrir les effets du retrait de la CEDEAO des pays membres de l’AES, principalement dans le domaine de la libre circulation des personnes et des biens dans l’espace AES.
Aussi, le Burkina Faso a été choisi pour accueillir la première conférence des parlementaires de l’Alliance. Quant au prochain Sommet des Chefs d’Etat, il se tiendra en 2025.
