(Niamey, 6 juillet 2024). Le Président du Faso, le Capitaine Ibrahim TRAORE a pris part au premier sommet de l’Alliance des Etats du Sahel (AES) aux côtés de ses pairs du Mali, le Colonel Assimi GOÏTA, et du Niger, le Général Abdourahamane TIANI.
Les trois Chefs d’Etat, dans leurs allocutions respectives prononcées à l’ouverture des travaux, ont affiché leur détermination à poursuivre la trajectoire prise dans le cadre de l’Alliance des États du Sahel.
Dénonçant les « simulacres d’indépendances octroyées aux Etats africains dans les années 60 », suivies du pillage des ressources naturelles et du terrorisme, le Président du Faso, le Capitaine TRAORE a expliqué le sens profond de leur révolte qui ne vise qu’à offrir à leurs Etats respectifs une vraie indépendance et aux populations un réel épanouissement.
En dépit des manipulations de toutes sortes et de la désinformation entretenues par les ennemis des peuples, le Capitaine Ibrahim TRAORE a martelé : « nous n’allons pas trembler ; nous allons affronter », tout en se réjouissant de la solidarité acquise au sein de l’espace commun.
Le Président du Faso a aussi indiqué que l’engagement qui a prévalu à la création de l’AES le 16 septembre 2023 ne faiblira jamais. Il a enfin invité les peuples de l’Alliance, à toujours mettre en avant l’intérêt supérieur des pays membres et de l’Alliance.
Dans la même dynamique, le Président de la République du Mali, le Colonel Assimi GOÏTA a rappelé que la signature de la Charte du Liptako-Gourma a scellé la décision collective prise par les Chefs d’Etat pour lutter contre le terrorisme.
Il a mis en exergue la synergie d’actions des armées des trois pays dans la traque des groupes armés terroristes qui donne des résultats tangibles. Le Président malien a annoncé la mise en œuvre d’actions novatrices et efficaces dans les secteurs des transports, de l’économie, de la communication, de la culture, des mines au profit du « peuple de l’AES ».
Se réjouissant des valeurs de fraternité et de solidarité qui gouvernent désormais l’Alliance des Etats du Sahel, le Colonel Assimi GOÏTA a réaffirmé la ferme détermination des Chefs d’Etat de faire de l’AES un modèle de coopération dans tous les domaines.
Le Président du Niger, le Général Abdourahamane TIANI, lui, dans son discours d’ouverture, a évoqué la « farouche détermination » des Chefs d’Etat à reconquérir la souveraineté de leur pays, avec « cette coalition solide » qu’est l’AES.
Selon le Général TIANI, l’Alliance dans son architecture future aura pour mission, au-delà de la lutte contre le terrorisme, de lutter contre les rebellions, le banditisme armé, et toute agression venant de l’extérieur.
Aussi, en vue de soutenir la réalisation des ambitions et des missions de l’Alliance, un accent particulier sera mis sur la sécurité alimentaire, l’indépendance économique et monétaire. Ces actions seront soutenues par la promotion de l’interconnexion (routes, compagnies aériennes, industries extractives entre autres) au sein de l’AES.
Avec la tenue de ce sommet qui marque la détermination de consolider l’AES, la direction est prise pour des actions fortes devant aboutir à un mieux-être des peuples du Sahel.
