336 Cas confirmés, tels sont les récents chiffres annoncés par les autorités sanitaires sur la maladie de Dengue au Mali, la semaine écoulée. En effet, le 1er cas de la maladie a été enregistré le 9 septembre dernier. L’alerte est donc lancée pour se protéger, car ce mal devient un problème de santé publique.

La Dengue, aussi appelée ‘’grippe tropicale’’, est une maladie virale transmise à l’homme par des moustiques du genre Aedes (aegypti et albopictus) lors d’un repas sanguin. Elle est due à un arbovirus (virus transmis par les arthropodes), appartenant à la famille des Flaviviridae, du genre flavivirus, comme le virus West Nile et de la fièvre jaune. Les souches du virus de la dengue se répartissent en quatre sérotypes distincts : DENV-1, DENV-2, DENV-3 et DENV-4. Ainsi, l’infection de la dengue sévit majoritairement en zone tropicale et inter tropicale. Et l’OMS estime à 50 millions le nombre de cas annuels, dont 500 000 cas de dengue hémorragique qui sont mortels dans plus de 2,5% des cas.

Comment se manifeste-t-elle ?

La Dengue ‘’classique’ ’se manifeste brutalement après 2 à 7 jours d’incubation par l’apparition de forte fièvre souvent accompagnée de céphalées, nausées, vomissements, douleurs articulaires et musculaires éruption cutanée ressemblant à celle de la rougeole douleur rétro-orbitaire et gonflement des ganglions. Au bout de 3 à 4 jours, une brève rémission est observée, puis les symptômes s’intensifient,  des hémorragies peuvent survenir, avant de régresser rapidement au bout d’une semaine.

Nombre de cas très alarmant au Mali

La semaine dernière, selon les autorités de Santé, le Mali a enregistré 336 cas avec 2 décès et plus de 2.400 cas suspects. Des chiffres qui prouvent que cette pathologie devient un véritable problème de santé publique. En plus de Bamako, certaines régions sont-ils touchées par la maladie Dengue, que sont Sikasso, Ségou, Koulikoro et Mopti. Toujours de source officielle, la maladie n’a jusqu’à présent pas de traitement spécifique, ce qui fera que chaque cas est pris pour un cas particulier. Elles (Autorités sanitaires) ont, par la suite, invité la population à assainir son environnement pour vite éradiquer cette maladie.

Par ailleurs, en outre du Mali, la Dengue fait des ravages dans la sous-région, à savoir le Burkina Faso, le Sénégal et la Côte d’Ivoire.
