Le Conseil national pour la sauvegarde de la patrie (CNSP) du Niger a salué la décision du président français Emmanuel Macron sur le départ d’ici la fin de l’année des troupes françaises, a rapporté dimanche soir la télévision nationale citant un communiqué.
« C’est un moment historique qui témoigne de la détermination et de la volonté du peuple nigérien », a précisé le communiqué, ajoutant que « toute personne, toute institution ou structure dont la présence menace les intérêts et les projections de notre pays devront quitter la terre de nos ancêtres, (qu’ils) le veuillent ou non ».
Réaffirmant le principe ferme et non négociable de départ des forces étrangères, le CNSP a appelé le peuple nigérien à « continuer à œuvrer pour un avenir meilleur et plus prospère » de la nation.
Dimanche soir, le président français Emmanuel Macron a annoncé que la France retirerait ses troupes déployées au Niger d’ici la fin de l’année, et que son ambassadeur au Niger serait rapatrié « dans les prochaines heures ».
La junte militaire du Niger avait demandé le 25 août le départ de l’ambassadeur de la France au Niger, Sylvain Itté, une demande rejetée à plusieurs reprises par le gouvernement français. Il y a deux semaines, M. Macron avait répété que la France ne pouvait se coordonner qu’avec le gouvernement légitime du Niger, et non avec les putschistes….lire l’article sur Xinhua
