A quelques jours des examens trimestriels, les parents d’élèves sont dans la consternation face aux délestages par la société EDM-SA. Ils craignent pour le niveau de leurs enfants pour la réussite aux examens et qui n’arrivent plus à apprendre leurs leçons la nuit. 

Tous les Maliens espéraient qu’en 2024, il y aurait moins de délestages. Mais le bout du tunnel semble encore loin, malgré les mesures prises par Mme Bintou Camara, ministre de l’Energie et de l’Eau, pour arrêter l’hémorragie.

En cette nouvelle année, la situation en matière de fourniture d’électricité  va de mal en pis. De plusieurs heures à plusieurs jours dans la capitale, les coupures d’électricité ont atteint une ampleur jamais égalée, à en croire les témoignages recueillis sur les réseaux sociaux. En 24 h, la société Énergie du Mali (EDM-SA) ne fournit à ses clients que 4 h, voire 6 h d’électricité, juste le temps de recharger les téléphones et autres appareils électroniques.

Cette pratique d’EDM-SA a amplifié la grogne contre le fournisseur de l’électricité au Mali, mais aussi contre le gouvernement de Transition qui a promis moins de délestages en cette nouvelle année, espérant qu’il n’y aurait plus de rupture dans la fourniture de carburant.

La semaine prochaine débuteront les examens du premier trimestre pour les lycéens. Déjà face à l’ampleur de ces délestages, certains parents d’élèves sont dans la consternation et craignent pour le niveau de leurs enfants pour l’obtention de meilleures notes.

« Ma fille est en classe de terminale. En conséquence, elle doit se préparer pour le bac. Pour préparer le bac, il faut apprendre ses leçons, faire ses exercices. Mais à cause des délestages, elle arrive à peine à réviser ses leçons. Je scrute l’arrivée du courant à des heures tardives de 2 h ou 3 h souvent pour réveiller ma fille afin qu’elle puisse réviser ses leçons avant d’aller à l’école le matin. C’est vraiment la consternation », témoigne une mère de famille tout en interpellant les autorités de la Transition à trouver solution à ces délestages avant les examens de fin d’année scolaire.

Ces coupures ont mis à mal, voire paralysé toute l’activité socioéconomique. Des menuisiers se sont convertis en maçon, des tailleurs en livreurs d’eau à domicile pour essayer de subvenir aux besoins vitaux de leurs familles.

Dans moins de 24 h s’ouvrira à Abidjan, la 34e Coupe d’Afrique des nations (Can/Côte d’Ivoire-2023)  qui est le plus grand événement sportif africain biannuel, mais qui sera sans doute perturbée par les délestages. Pour cela, si certains Maliens trouvent qu’il faut se désintéresser de cette Can même les jours où les Aigles vont jouer, parce qu’EDM sera incapable de fournir à tous de l’électricité pour suivre les matchs des Aigles, d’autres pensent que les téléphones portables feront l’affaire.

« Je sais qu’EDM ne va pas nous permettre de suivre les 52 rencontres. Mais moi j’ai opté pour le téléphone pour suivre en direct et en intégralité toutes les rencontres de la Can en Côte d’Ivoire. J’ai déjà acheté deux Powerbanks d’une capacité de 50 000 ampères pour l’occasion », laisse entendre ce grand amateur de football.
