A la faveur d’un colloque sur l’exploitation minière au Mali, tenu 03 au 04 juillet 2023 à Bamako, le Centre d’Etudes et de Réflexion au Mali (CERM) estime que le secteur minier rapporte au pays entre 250 à 300 milliards de francs CFA par an.

Selon le Centre d’Etudes et de Réflexion au Mali (CERM), l’or est actuellement le premier produit d’exportation du Mali en valeur et constitue un des plus grands contributeurs à la croissance économique. « Les ressources générées par le secteur se chiffrent en effet entre 250 à 300 milliards de FCFA par an. Malgré cette contribution significative, plusieurs rapports sur le secteur de l’or au Mali (Rapport ITIE, rapports du Vérificateur Général…) font ressortir que les retombées de l’exploitation minière sont largement en deçà de ce qu’elles pourraient être et les plaintes des populations à proximité de ces sites d’exploitation restent fortes », a-t-il précisé.

Quant aux entreprises extractives, elles estiment s’inscrire durablement dans les RSE (Responsabilité sociale des entreprises) et considèrent qu’au regard de la prise de risque, des capitaux engagés dans ce secteur et de leur contribution aux ressources de l’Etat, il est impératif que leur rentabilité soit préservée.
