Les deux pays entendent renforcer leur coopération dans les domaines de l’énergie, de la défense, des transports, des infrastructures et de l’agriculture
Le Président de la Transition, le Général d’armée Assimi Goïta a reçu en audience hier soir au Palais de Koulouba le vice-Premier ministre russe, Alexandre Novak, à la tête d’une importante délégation composée des représentants du gouvernement, du Parlement et du secteur privé de la Fédération de Russie.
La rencontre s’est déroulée en présence du Premier ministre, le Général de division Abdoulaye Maïga, du ministre de la Défense et des Anciens, le Général de corps d’armée Sadio Camara, du ministre des Affaires étrangères et de la Coopération internationale, Abdoulaye Diop et celui de l’Économie et des Finances, Alousséni Sanou.
À sa sortie d’audience, le Vice-Premier ministre russe a indiqué qu’il est venu pour approfondir la coopération entre le Mali et la Fédération de Russie dans les domaines de l’énergie, de la défense, du transport, des infrastructures et de l’agriculture avec le Mali. Selon Alexandre Novak, les discussions ont également porté sur la planification de la coopération dans le cadre de l’Alliance des États du Sahel (AES) regroupant le Mali, le Burkina Faso et le Niger.
«Ces pays sont riches en ressources humaines et naturelles», a souligné le visiteur de marque, ajoutant les perspectives pour la mise en œuvre des projets futurs avec ces pays amis. Pour sa part, le Premier ministre, le Général de division Abdoulaye Maïga, a rappelé que cette visite s’inscrit dans le cadre de l’engagement pris entre le président Goïta et son homologue russe.
Revenant sur les liens d’amitié et de fraternité entre les deux pays, le Général Maïga a indiqué que récemment cette coopération a connu une nouvelle impulsion qui « nous a permis d’avoir des résultats tangibles notamment en matière de la lutte contre le terrorisme et dans le domaine de la défense et de la sécurité».
Selon lui, cette visite est une nouvelle étape qui permet de renforcer les liens avec la Russie. Elle permet également, à-il poursuivi, de renforcer les relations entre les pays de la Confédération AES avec la Fédération de Russie.
Rappelons que cette visite fait suite à la 1ère conférence ministérielle du forum de partenariat Russie-Afrique, qui s’est tenue les 9 et 10 novembre à Sotchi, à laquelle la délégation malienne était conduite par le ministre chargé des Affaires étrangères, Abdoulaye Diop.
