Une vingtaine de terroristes ont été « neutralisés » et un « important » terroriste arrêté par l’armée burkinabè mercredi dans la région du Sahel, a rapporté samedi la presse locale.
L’armée burkinabè, citée par l’Agence d’information du Burkina (AIB), a expliqué que mercredi, aux environs de Markoye dans la région du Sahel, les forces combattantes ont mené une opération antiterroriste qui a permis de « neutraliser » une vingtaine de terroristes et de récupérer une importante logistique.
En outre, Adama Oumarou, un combattant et poseur de bombes de l’État islamique au Grand Sahara (EIGS), a été arrêté lors de cette opération, selon la même source.
L’interpellation de ce terroriste constitue une « grosse prise » pour les forces combattantes, a indiqué l’AIB.
Depuis 2015, l’insécurité dans ce pays d’Afrique de l’Ouest a coûté la vie à de nombreuses personnes et fait des milliers de déplacés.
