(Niamey, 5 juillet 2024). Le Président du Faso, le Capitaine Ibrahim TRAORE est arrivé cet après-midi à Niamey, la capitale nigérienne, où se tiendra demain samedi, le premier sommet des Chefs d’Etat de l’Alliance des Etats du Sahel (AES).
Il a été accueilli, à sa descente d’avion à l’aéroport international Diori Hamani, par le Président de la République du Niger, le Général Abdourahamane TIANI.
Après un tête-à-tête au salon, le cortège a mis le cap sur le palais présidentiel, sous les acclamations d’une foule immense jalonnant le chemin.
Dans la capitale nigérienne, avec ses homologues du Mali, le Colonel Assimi GOÏTA, et du Niger, le Général Abdourahamane TIANI, le Président du Faso prendra part à cette rencontre importante pour la bonne marche de l’Alliance des Etats du Sahel, mise en place le 16 septembre 2023 avec la signature de la Charte du Liptako-Gourma.
La sécurité, la défense, les échanges économiques, culturels et commerciaux, vont constituer les points essentiels des échanges au cours de ce sommet.
Les trois pays partagent des défis communs qui nécessitent une mutualisation des actions et des moyens pour les relever.
Ce sommet constitue un cadre stratégique d’où sortiront des résolutions qui vont tracer les sillons pour le retour de la paix, l’instauration de la sécurité, l’implémentation et le renforcement d’actions communes de développement pour le bonheur des peuples du Sahel.
