La Maison de la Presse a abrité, le mercredi 02 août dernier, la Conférence débat de la Journée panafricaine des femmes. L’événement s’est tenu sous le thème : « La participation effective des femmes au développement de la nation ».
Célébrée depuis 1962, la journée panafricaine est devenue un événement régulier au Mali. Chaque année, des thématiques d’actualités aux enjeux réels sont pris pour débattre afin d’apporter des réponses idoines aux préoccupations auxquelles les femmes sont confrontées. Cette année, le choix s’est porté sur la participation des femmes aux élections. L’objectif de cette conférence-débat était de rappeler le rôle et la place qui reviennent à la femme dans la vie politique et le développement de la nation
Prenant la parole, la vice-présidente de l’Organisation panafricaine des femmes (OPF), Mme Diallo Kama Sakiliba, dira que son organisation avait pour objectifs fondamentaux l’émancipation de la femme et la lutte contre le colonialisme. Selon elle, cette organisation a été créée avant l’OUA par Aoua Keita et ses camarades tout en déclarant que c’est dans la solidarité qu’elles peuvent obtenir des résultats. Depuis sa création a-t-elle dit, l’organisation a recentré son objectif sur le développement et le combat politique. « Nous travaillons avec les organisations féminines nationales pour défendre les droits de femme » a-t-elle affirmé.
Aussi, Mme Diallo Kama Sakiliba a-t-elle estimé que cette organisation fut le cheval de bataille des femmes d’Afrique et qu’elle a su fédérer toutes les femmes africaines face au combat colonialiste et l’apatridie ainsi que pour la lutte en faveur de l’émancipation des femmes. Tout en analphabétisant des femmes, en les aidant à apprendre de petits métiers à savoir : teinture, couture, coiffure et savonnerie.
Pour elle, il est important que ces femmes organisent des journées d’informations et de sensibilisations pour la salubrité de Bamako. Avant d’ajouter : « A l’époque on appelait Bamako la ville coquette ; c’est dommage qu’on voie Bamako aujourd’hui comme ça, parce que les femmes ont perdu toute habitude de se mettre ensemble pour galvaniser la population autour de la salubrité ». Pour terminer, la vice-présidente de l’OPF a invité toutes les femmes africaines à être solidaires et au cœur de la gestion des conflits.
Pour sa part, Mme Sangaré Oumou Bah, ancienne ministre de la Promotion de la Femme de l’Enfant et de la Famille, a indiqué que le thème qui lui a été confié, femme et processus électoral, est d’actualité. A ses dires le pays est dans une période transitoire qui prendra fin dans peu de temps et les élections se préparent. De même qu’il faut une participation massive des femmes, une participation en tant que citoyenne, électrice, candidate surtout avec les jeunes femmes. « Je me réjouis d’être conférencière, de leur expliquer les avantages de participer activement à la vie politique et à la vie publique du pays. Parce que si les femmes y participent, le développement est assuré » a-t-elle souligné.
Initiatrice de la loi n°052…., Sangaré Oumou Ba souligne que cette loi est appliquée politiquement parce qu’il y a des sanctions contre les partis qui ne la respectent pas. Elle a aussi témoigné qu’il reste beaucoup à faire au niveau des nominations et que les femmes n’ont pas voulu saisir toutes les opportunités pour aller vers les sanctions. « Nous voulons la sensibilisation d’abord parce que le changement n’est pas facile. Ça vient progressivement et je pense que les femmes mêmes ont compris qu’il y a discrimination au niveau des nominations et je pense qu’elles vont faire des efforts tout en utilisant leur stratégie pour réduire ces discriminations » a-t-elle conclu.
