Au moment où la Minusma, à la demande des Autorités maliennes, s’apprête à quitter notre pays, le chef du bataillon sénégalais déployé à Sévaré (Mopti), le commandant Mathieu  Séne, a été contraint d’abandonné sa troupe et de regagner Dakar, le vendredi dernier. 48 heures avant, cet officier avait, lors d’un rassemblement, tenu des  propos déplacés à l’endroit des soldats maliens, qu’il          a accusé « d’entraver le travail de la mission ». Aussitôt après, une vidéo de ce rassemblement a circulé sur les réseaux sociaux. Immédiatement après les propos du commandant Séne a provoqué beaucoup de réaction au sein de l’opinion malienne. Mais, du côté officiel et la seule réaction enregistrée est venue de la Minusma qui a regretté les propos de l’officier et s’est dissociée des déclarations tenues à Sévaré. Et la sanction contre le commandant Mathieu Séne est tombée quelques heures après. Cet acte isolé n’entamera nullement les relations fraternelles entre les deux pays, encore moins les deux armés. Il faut dire que le Sénégal a été l’un des premiers pays à être au côté du Mali dès le déclenchement de la crise sécuritaire en 2012.
