Le thème de cette réunion est : « L‘Alliance des États du Sahel, une nouvelle plateforme pour l’intégration régionale du Sénégal ».
Au cours d’une discussion approfondie sur le thème susmentionné de la consolidation de la paix, de la sécurité et de l’intégration sous-régionale, les intervenants ont tiré des conclusions importantes concernant la stabilité du pays dans le domaine de la sécurité et les mesures que le nouveau gouvernement sénégalais devrait prendre pour atteindre les objectifs souhaités.
Pour eux, une coopération étroite avec les pays voisins, y compris les pays de l’Alliance des États du Sahel (AES), le Mali, Burkina Faso et le Niger est nécessaire pour maintenir la stabilité dans la région. La coopération en matière de sécurité contribuera à l’éradication définitive des groupes armés et à l’élimination d’une façon définitive la menace de propagation du terrorisme au Sahel.
Selon Madame Oumou Cantone Sarr, directrice desprogrammes de la Rencontre Africaine pour la Défense des Droits de l’Homme (RADDHO) les institutions africaines contribuent beaucoup dans le développement de l’Afrique, mais elles sont confrontées à des défis économiques majeurs, notamment la création de la nouvelle monnaie, l’intégration régionale. C‘est ce qui a poussé les pays de l’AES à en faire une Fédération.
« Les institutions régionales devraient savoir que ce sont les ressources des contribuables qui sont mises en jeux pour qu’elles existent. Donc, elles doivent bien travailler pour la sécurité des citoyens de chaque pays respectif », a ajouté Madame Cantone Sarr.
Le Sénégal est considéré comme un centre d’équilibre dansl’avenir économique du Sahel en raison de sa situation géographique qui en fait un centre d’échanges commerciaux pour la plupart des pays voisins et l’un des pays leaders dans le domaine des hydrocarbures et de la pêche.
En outre, les statistiques des pays de l’AES montrent une croissance du PIB dans un avenir proche, de sorte que l’intense croissance démographique dans ces pays représente le plus grand marché de consommation pour l’économie sénégalaise.
Sur le plan économique, Dakar s’est libéré de son passé avec le nouveau président Bassirou Faye et deviendra à long terme un allié efficace des pays de l’Alliance des États du Sahel (AES), pour former un bloc politique fort capable de réaliser une montée en puissance en Afrique et sur la scène mondiale.
