Avec le la diligence d’un sommet extraordinaire de ses chefs d’Etat sur le Niger, hier dimanche, la CEDEAO n’est pas en marge de la cadence. Et pour cause : l’institution sous-régionale y joue sa crédibilité, avec l’accession de l’avènement du président nigérian à sa présidence à coups d’annonces tonitruantes de fermeté contre les prises du pouvoir par la force. L’épisode nigérien survient en définitive en contrepoint de la nouvelle ère annoncée par ses menaces et mises en garde qu’ont inspiré à Bola Ahmed Tinubu les déstabilisations d’ordre constitutionnel dans la sous-région ouest-africaine. Car, à la l’issue d’un mini-sommet consacré à la problématique, une semaine auparavant, il prenait date par la ferme promesse de sonner le tocsin du syndrome putschiste et de veiller au strict respect des chronogrammes électoraux dans les pays actuellement en Transition à cause de coups d’Etat.
