Le président sortant de la fédération malienne de football (FEMAFOOT), Mamoutou Touré dit Bavieux, présentement incarcéré pour une affaire de corruption, a été réélu pour un nouveau mandat de quatre ans. C’était ce 29 Août 2023 au cours d’une Assemblée Générale Elective, en présence des délégués de la FIFA et de la CAF.

Seul candidat retenu pour l’élection d’un nouveau comité Exécutif, le président sortant de la FEMAFOOT passe tranquillement pour un second mandat, ce malgré les soucis judiciaires auxquels il est confronté actuellement. Il remporte ainsi les élections avec 61 voix pour; une voix contre et une abstention sur les  63 délégués présents.

Les dix-sept (17) délégués des ligues qui ont parrainé son adversaire, Salah Baby, dont la candidature n’a pas été retenue, se sont abstenus de venir à l’Assemblée Générale élective.
