En marge du deuxième sommet et du forum économique et humanitaire Russie-Afrique, le Président de la Transition, SE le Colonel Assimi GOITA, Chef de l’État a reçu en audience, ce samedi 29 juillet 2023, les Maliens résidants en Fédération de Russie. Occasion d’imprégner ces Maliens vivants à l’étranger des réalités du pays et solliciter leur accompagnement.

Ils étaient une centaine de Maliens : des étudiants, militaires en formation ainsi que des professeurs, à effectuer le déplacement, ce samedi, en début de matinée, pour rencontrer le Président de la Transition à sa résidence à Saint-Pétersbourg.

Une occasion mise à profit par les uns et les autres pour exprimer leur affection au Chef de l’État, mais aussi et surtout réitérer leur soutien aux autorités de la Transition durant cette période difficile qu’elles traversent.

SE Sékou KAMISSOKO, Ambassadeur accrédité du Mali auprès de la Fédération de Russie, a rappelé les bonnes relations d’amitié et de fraternité qui lie les deux pays depuis des décennies. Selon ses précisions, la communauté malienne en Russie compte une centaine de personnes, composées majoritairement d’étudiants et de stagiaires militaires en formation. Un nombre qui devrait augmenter en raison de l’augmentation de la taille des bourses octroyées au Mali par la Russie.

Le bureau exécutif des étudiants maliens et stagiaires en Russie n’a pas manqué à demander à ce titre l’accompagnement des autorités maliennes dans la résolution de certaines difficultés dont les étudiants maliens en Russie souffrent.

L’ambassadeur a félicité les autorités maliennes pour le départ de la MINUSMA, de Takuba et de Barkhane. Selon lui, ces départs renforcent la capacité des forces armées maliennes.

La communauté malienne se dit fière du fait que le Président de la Transition ait choisi comme première destination à l’étranger depuis son investiture en juin 2021, la Fédération de la Russie.

Prenant la parole, le Chef de l’État a rassuré avoir écouté avec intérêt les différentes interventions et d’avoir pris bonne note. Cependant, il a rappelé toutes les difficultés dont le Mali était confronté et aussi les grands chantiers de la refondation lancés sous son leadership.

Le Président GOITA a saisi l’occasion pour remercier la communauté malienne en Fédération de Russie pour sa participation dans ce processus de refondation. Il leur a surtout indiqué la bonne qualité de la relation russo-malienne.

Selon ses précisions, c’est au moment où beaucoup espéraient voir le Mali tombé que la Russie est venue au secours, non seulement sur le plan militaire, mais aussi pour les intérêts communs des deux pays, notamment le développement économique. Car sans sécurité, pas de développement et sans développement aussi pas de sécurité. Les deux doivent aller de pair, a précisé le Président GOITA.

Le Chef de l’État a rappelé aussi l’importance de l’éducation pour une nation. Toutefois, il demande à la communauté malienne en Russie, pour l’émergence du Mali, de retourner dans leur pays une fois qu’ils auront terminé les études. Ils doivent revenir travailler pour le bonheur de tous les Maliens et l’intérêt commun des deux pays. Ils sont aussi l’espoir du Mali.

En guise d’appui de à ces maliens, vivants loin de la patrie, le Président de la Transition a remis une somme symbolique. Un geste qu’il convient de mettre dans le cadre de l’assistance humanitaire que le Chef de l’État ne manque jamais d’apporter à l’endroit des Maliens où qu’ils se trouvent.
