 Le gouvernement soudanais a rejeté mercredi le projet de résolution du Conseil des droits de l’homme des Nations Unies (CDH) proposant la formation d’une commission d’enquête de trois membres consacrée aux crimes et aux violations des droits humains commis dans le cadre du conflit au Soudan.

« Le ministère soudanais des Affaires étrangères réaffirme son rejet catégorique de ce projet de résolution, car il décrit mal ce qui se passe au Soudan, fait preuve de préjugés envers les forces armées soudanaises et ne prend pas en compte les véritables priorités du Soudan dans la période actuelle », a indiqué le ministère dans un communiqué, ajoutant que le gouvernement accordait une grande importance aux droits de l’homme.

Les membres du CDH sont actuellement réunis à Genève pour discuter d’un projet de résolution proposé par les Etats-Unis, le Royaume-Uni, la Norvège et l’Allemagne dans le but d’établir cette commission d’enquête.

Plusieurs pays, dont l’Arabie saoudite, ont choisi de ne pas approuver le projet de résolution.

Le Soudan est le théâtre d’affrontements meurtriers entre les forces armées régulières et les unités paramilitaires des Forces de soutien rapide à Khartoum et dans d’autres régions depuis le 15 avril. Les combats ont fait au moins 3.000 morts et plus de 6.000 blessés, selon des chiffres publiés par le ministère soudanais de la Santé.
